Membership 2026 / 27

A membership for every golfer

Whatever your age and however often you play, there is an option here that fits — including dual membership across two courses within a short drive of each other. This page explains what each one gives you and what it does not. Our short questionnaire will then confirm which suits you best.

The differences at a glance

Three things really separate our memberships: when you can play, whether you can enter competitions, and whether you pay once a year or as you go.

Prices shown are the lowest in each group. The £850 seven-day rate is a promotion running to 31 March 2027, after which it renews at the standard subscription. Full detail below.

Full annual membership

Unlimited golf, a WHS handicap and the full competition calendar. Pay yearly or spread it monthly.

Seven Day

New member offer £850 to 31 March 2027 £1,095

Golf whenever you like, seven days a week, with everything the club runs open to you — Saturday and midweek medals, every trophy competition and the Club Championships.

  • Unlimited golf, any day
  • Full competition entry and an official WHS Handicap Index
  • Add Hartford Golf Club for £1,120 instead of £1,095

What the £850 actually buys. It is a promotion, not a discounted year. Our membership year runs to 31 March, and the £850 covers you from the day you join until 31 March 2027. From 1 April 2027 it renews at the standard seven-day subscription, £1,095 at today's prices.

Join earlier in the year and you get more golf for your £850 — which is rather the point of it. New members only, terms apply.

Five Day

£875 a year

Unlimited golf Monday to Friday. Everything a seven-day member gets, minus weekends and Bank Holidays — so midweek medals yes, Saturday medals and the Club Championships no.

  • Unlimited golf Monday to Friday
  • Midweek competitions and a full WHS handicap
  • Dual with Hartford for £885

Worth checking before you choose this. Our seven-day offer for new members is currently £850 — less than the five-day subscription, with weekends and the full competition calendar included. If you are joining for the first time, ask us to compare the two properly before you decide. We would rather put you in the right one.

Joint Seven Day

For couples £1,995 a year, for two

Two full seven-day memberships on one subscription, saving £195 against joining separately. Both of you get the full competition calendar and a WHS handicap.

  • Dual with Hartford for £2,025

Four Ball

Best value £840 each, for four

Join with three friends and all four of you pay £840 for a dual membership — both Pryors Hayes and Hartford, full competition rights, for less than a single seven-day subscription. It is the best value membership at the club, and you arrive with a four-ball already sorted.

3

Under 30s

Full seven-day playing rights at a reduced rate. Your category is set by your age on 1 April, so you keep the rate for the whole season.

Intermediate — ages 22 to 29

£585 a year

Everything a seven-day member gets for a little over half the price. If you are in this age group, nothing else at the club comes close.

Colt — ages 18 to 21

£290 a year

A dual membership, so you can play at Hartford too. Full playing rights and competition entry.

Junior — ages 12 to 17

£165 a year

Full seven-day playing rights, junior coaching and junior competitions, plus a WHS handicap. A parent or guardian completes the application, and we ask you both to come in and meet our Director of Golf before you start.

Under 12s

£150 a year

Full access with a supervising adult, and a place in our junior academy sessions.

Under 18? We do not take payment online from under 18s. Complete the application and book a visit — a parent or guardian comes along and can settle the fee at the club.

4

FlexiGolf

A points card rather than a membership. You decide when you play and how often, and pay only for the golf you use.

FlexiGolf Points Card

£300 for 300 points

Each round comes off your card. Top up any time from £50, and anything you have not used rolls over to the next season. If you later upgrade to a full membership, your remaining points convert to credit against it.

It suits people playing roughly once a month or less. Above about twelve rounds a year, an annual membership works out cheaper.

Please read this before choosing FlexiGolf. It is not a competition membership. You cannot enter the medals, the trophy competitions or the Club Championships.

What is open to you: the Captain's and Lady Captain's Drive-Ins, both Charity Days, the Club Invitation Day, and the Members Council Trophy if you hold a WHS Handicap Index. If you think you will want to play competitive golf, take an annual membership instead — and talk to us first if you are unsure.

5

Competitions and handicaps

The competition calendar is one of the best reasons to join. Here is how it actually works, including the bits people are usually surprised by.

You need a WHS Handicap Index

Every competition at Pryors Hayes requires a WHS Handicap Index of 54 or below — what used to be called a CONGU handicap. If you have not got one, we will help you get it. You will need to join the county union to hold it, which is £18.25 a year (CCGU for men, CCLGA for ladies) on top of your subscription.

Most trophies need eight qualifying rounds first

This is the one that catches new members out. To enter most of our trophy competitions you need to have played eight handicap-qualifying singles competitions since receiving your initial WHS Index. The Yellow Ball needs three.

The Saturday and midweek medals have no such requirement, so that is where new members build their qualifying rounds up — usually over a couple of months. The Ken Coates Trophy is open to everyone from day one.

What FlexiGolf members can play

The Captain's and Lady Captain's Drive-Ins and Charity Days — all four are open to everyone — plus the Club Invitation Day, and the Members Council Trophy for anyone holding a WHS Handicap Index. Medals, trophy competitions and the Club Championships are for annual members only.

In short. Join, get your handicap sorted, play the medals through your first couple of months, and the full trophy calendar opens up from there. Our Director of Golf will walk you through it when you visit.

Where you will fit in

Membership is the same for everyone — same options, same prices, same course. What differs is the calendar you play to, and the club runs three sections with programmes of their own.

Ladies' section

A thriving section across two divisions, playing 13 major competitions through the summer alongside singles and doubles knockouts, mixed events and a Tuesday roll-up arranged on the section's WhatsApp group.

Competition golf runs April to October — Thursdays from 9.16am and Saturdays from 11.08am — with a nine-hole programme through the winter.

Teams go out in the West Cheshire League, the Percival Trophy and the Business Ladies League, and the section enters national qualifiers including the Mail on Sunday, Ping and TaylorMade.

New to golf or coming back to it after a break, you will be made welcome — the section is actively looking for both.

Ladies' section and fixture list →

Men's section

Saturday and midweek medals, the full trophy calendar and the Club Championships, plus the Captain's events through the season.

Men's section →

Seniors' section

Midweek golf and its own fixture list, with friendly matches against other Cheshire clubs.

Seniors' section →

One thing to be clear about. The sections' competition programmes — ladies', men's and seniors' alike — are for annual members. FlexiGolf does not include them.

Two courses for one subscription

Hartford Golf Club is our sister club, a short drive away. For a small addition to most memberships you can play both courses all year.

Seven-day dual is £1,120 rather than £1,095. Five-day dual is £885 rather than £875. Joint dual is £2,025. Colt membership and the four-ball deal are dual as standard, and FlexiGolf points work at both clubs — at a lower rate at Hartford.

If you already belong to another club, dual membership is usually the sensible way in.

Bring a friend. Introduce someone who joins and renews, and you can take up to £250 off your 2027 subscription.
