New Handicaps

The process for members applying for a new WHS Handicap Index between April and October.

Minimum scorecard requirement

A WHS Handicap Index will be granted to a member after submitting the required number of properly completed 9-hole and/or 18-hole scorecards covering a total minimum of 54 holes.

Members are strongly encouraged to play these rounds within a six-week time frame so that, when awarded, the Handicap Index properly reflects their current demonstrated golfing ability.

Scorecard requirements

  • Tee played circled.
  • Date played.
  • Strokes per hole.
  • Player name and player signature.
  • Marker name. Marker signature is not required.
  • Clearly marked at the top with "For handicap purposes only".

Qualified marker

Rounds must be played over the measured course when the course is suitable for handicap qualifying rounds. Please check with the shop before you play.

A qualified marker is a member of an affiliated golf club who has a WHS Handicap Index. The marker name, and their golf club if they are not a PHGC member, must be clearly printed on each scorecard.

When all 54 holes have been played, the completed scorecards should be scanned or photographed and emailed to info@pryorshayes.co.uk. The newly awarded WHS Handicap Index will be advised to the player by email.
