Captain's Blog 2018 - Introducing The New Captain

DSC00603.JPG

It is an honour and a privilege to be Pryors Hayes Golf Club Captain for 2018.

My year started at the AGM on 16th March, followed by my Drive In on 17th March.

I wanted to create a memorable Drive In and I think that I definitely achieved that with the weather conditions, high winds, snow blizzards and a wind chill factor of -6.

It was however a day that didn’t deter you hardened golfers who supported my drive in remarkably and you managed to raise £1,313.00 on the day which was truly overwhelming and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few people for their support on the day.

My Vice Captain Ian Jackson, Sue & Fred Worrall, Adam Gaze, Sue Dunne & Pam Oatley.

Not forgetting my Wife Sharon, Daughter Hannah & Son Tom.

And of course to you, the members who braved the conditions.

My chosen charity for this year is The Joshua Tree, a charity that supports families affected by childhood cancer.

They are a local charity based in Northwich and can be found here.

You can also follow them on Facebook, where you can find lots of events and activities that we can all support or take part in.

Future events for this year are:

- Captain's Charity Day - 9th June

- Captain’s Away Day - 8th / 9th July at Formby Hall Golf Club

There are still places available subject to sharing a twin room.

See noticeboard in the Clubhouse for details.

Once again thank you for your support and long may it continue.

Here’s to better weather, better golf and a great year at Pryors Hayes Golf Club.

Kind Regards,

Dave Massey
