Code Of Conduct

Pryors Hayes Golf Club is proud to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members and visitors. The club is committed to upholding the traditions and values of the game of golf, including honesty, integrity, and fair play.

General Conduct

All individuals are expected to:

• Treat everyone with respect, fairness, and courtesy, regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or background.

• Promote a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone at the club.

• Report any inappropriate behaviour, discrimination, or misconduct to club management or a committee member.

• Represent Pryors Hayes Golf Club in a positive manner both on and off the course.

The club will not tolerate:

• Physical or verbal abuse

• Bullying, harassment, or intimidation

• Foul, abusive, or discriminatory language

• Inappropriate physical contact

Player Responsibilities

Golf is a game of honour. All players must:

• Abide by the Rules of Golf and any local rules in effect.

• Display integrity and sportsmanship at all times.

• Accurately record and certify scores, and uphold the rules relating to handicaps.

• Return all acceptable scores in accordance with WHS rules.

• Pre-register for general play rounds when required and submit scores promptly.

Behaviour on the course

All members and visitors are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values of Pryors Hayes Golf Club and the spirit of the game.

In particular:

• The throwing of clubs, displays of excessive anger or frustration, or any behaviour that may cause harm or discomfort to others is strictly prohibited.

• The use of abusive, foul, or aggressive language—whether directed at oneself, other players, officials, or members of the public—is unacceptable.

• Any such conduct will be considered a serious breach of the Code of Conduct and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension from future compeitions.

Dress Code

To maintain the standards and tradition of the club, all members and visitors must adhere to the following Dress Code:

On the Course

• Collared golf shirts or appropriate golf-specific tops must be worn.

• Tailored trousers or tailored shorts with belt loops. No cargo shorts, beachwear, or tracksuits.

• Golf shoes with soft spikes only. No trainers or metal spikes.

• Golf hats must be worn the right way round.

• Denim of any kind is not permitted on the course.

In the Clubhouse

• Smart casual wear is acceptable unless otherwise specified for certain events.

• Clean, dry golf attire is permitted after a round.

• No hats, caps, or waterproofs to be worn in the lounge or dining areas.

• Clean, smart jeans are acceptable in the clubhouse.

The management reserves the right to refuse access to the course or clubhouse to any person not complying with the dress code.

Enforcement

Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action in line with club policy. Repeated or serious breaches will be addressed by the management or club committee.
